Climate Change Bill Submission

Comments on the Climate Change Bill by the Wild Law Institute and the EMS Foundation

On 27 May 2022, the Wild Law Institute together with the EMS Foundation submitted comments on the Climate Change Bill. While we support the intention and necessity of the Bill, we expressed our concern that the current version of the Bill does not take account of the deeper systemic causes of climate change nor the need to protect and restore ecosystems which play an essential role in climate change responses. We therefore propose that the scope of the Bill be widened by introducing the concept of harmonious co-existence and making amendments to reflect a wider eco-centric approach.
